Why is it when the mornings turn cold and crisp, I find myself pulling down my collection of Skip's Lombardi's recipes and making out a shopping list to include things like calimari and porcini mushrooms? Must be Fall! I think it's going to be goat cheese ravioli this weekend. Little JC Fredette is 6 now and plenty old enough to turn to handle of the pasta machine. Time he learned - and while we're at it, I'll tell him about a guy we used to know who taught us all about Italy, and a few other things worth knowing. How bittersweet those memories are. It's that 'other' Skip:-) It's too bad about Fred's. I've only been there twice and that was the original Fred's, not the new Fred's. I liked it and liked it even more while driving by and seeing all the people sitting around there and shopping. Now it's dead again. And don't forget Uva Rara (sp?)
